
Applications of Radar in the Modern World
Overview
In our modern world, the use of radar is becoming more widespread, with applications ranging from air defence, remote sensing and even as navigation sensors in autonomous vehicles. In this seminar, we will review the reasons why radar is the preferred sensor for an increasingly large array of applications. With these reasons, we will elaborate on some of these modern applications as well as future concepts in radar.

Speaker Bio

Dr Yap Han Lun
Dr Yap Han Lun received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, MSc in Spacecraft Technology and Satellite Communications from University College London, UK, and Diplôme d’Ingénieur in Telecommunications Engineering from Télécom SudParis, France. He is currently Director of a Radar Systems Programme at DSO National Laboratories. Besides overseeing radar systems development, he maintains a research interest in radar signal processing and future radar concepts development.
